Westside Atlanta in the Past: The History Behind the Neighborhood

The Westside neighborhood, like many other neighborhoods in this southern state, is steeped in historical significance. Along with Downtown and Midtown, Westside was part of a larger area that was significant in Atlanta’s industrial and railroad history.
Now, Westside has become a popular spot for families, college students, creatives, and younger generations who are looking for a hip place to live with a more affordable price tag.

How to Get Around: Westside Atlanta Transportation Options

Though Westside strives to be a hip, walkable strip of spacious city, it does still sometimes require a vehicle to get from Point A to Point B. That being said, Westside does offer residents and visitors plenty of public transit options.
With plenty of easy access to MARTA rail stations and bus stops, you’ll be able to hop a line to anywhere you need to go. And while you’ll likely never truly feel the need to leave Westside, you’re just a hop, skip, and a jump away from great spots like Buckhead, Downtown, and Midtown.
